Position Summary
Are you passionate about empowering the next generation of business leaders? Join the Student Professional Development Center team, supporting Elon University's Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, where you'll play a pivotal role in helping our undergraduate and graduate students launch successful careers. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative career programming while working directly with motivated business students in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
The Love School of Business is known for its integration of classroom learning with real-world experience, award-winning faculty, and strong industry connections. Our students consistently secure competitive internships and full-time positions with leading organizations, and you'll be instrumental in maintaining and expanding this success.
In this role, you will provide professional development support to undergraduate and graduate students and alumni of the LSB. This professional development support is conducted through 1:1 appointments/sessions in-person, virtually, and via phone, drop-in appointments, classroom presentations, and workshops. Appointments cover all facets of professional development including but not limited to resume reviews, cover letter reviews, networking, internship search, job search, mock interviews, offer discussions, career and major exploration.
The Student Professional Development Center reports through the Division of Advancement and External Affairs, and this position reports to the Senior Associate Director of Career Services in the Love School of Business.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Master's degree in business or related field OR
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience in recruiting, business, human resources, or related field
Preferred Education and Experience
- Career coaching or advising experience with demonstrated success in helping individuals achieve professional goals
- Higher education experience, particularly in university career services or business school environments
- Familiarity with business career pathways and industry recruitment practices

Job Duties
- Student Partnership
- Partner one-on-one with LSB students and alumni to create personalized career action plans. Through individual appointments, drop-in sessions, and virtual consultations, you'll guide students through resume development, interview preparation, networking strategies, and job search tactics tailored to their unique goals and industries. Work closely with our distinctive business programs including International Business Dual Degree Students, Business Fellows, and the 3+1 Cohort, developing targeted resources and programming that address their unique career pathways.
- Innovative Program Development
- Design and deliver engaging workshops, classroom presentations, and special events that connect students with alumni, industry professionals, and career opportunities. You'll work in partnership with the Senior Associate Director of Career Services for the Love School of Business to develop programming that responds to evolving industry trends and student needs.
- Digital Innovation
- Develop and maintain digital resources that connect students with opportunities and career information, utilizing LinkedIn, newsletters, EdTech platforms, and emerging technologies to maximize student engagement.
- Curriculum Integration
- Contribute to professional development initiatives within the curriculum by delivering career development instruction and providing meaningful feedback on student professional development assignments.
- Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with LSB faculty, SPDC staff, and campus-wide partners, to create seamless career support experiences and expand opportunities for students through strategic partnerships and cross-functional initiatives.
